The Queensland Women's Historical Association is a not for profit organisation. Although we receive some government grants for specific projects we rely mostly on our membership, donations and bequests.
If you wish to support the work of the QWHA in stimulating interest in the history and heritage of Queensland and in particular the history of pioneer families and the contribution made by women to the development of Queensland, your donation would be very much appreciated. Each donation, no matter what the size is used in the upkeep of Miegunyah house and its gardens.
All donations over $2.00 are tax deductable. All donors will be sent a receipt unless otherwise requested by the donor.
Donations may be sent to:

A Bequest is a gift made through an individual's last Will and Testament. It can be in the form of a gift of cash, a percentage of your estate, property or shares, or the residue of your estate. By making a bequest to the Queensland Women's Historical Association you will be helping us to preserve and promote Queensland's heritage. A gift in a Will is an opportunity to make a gift of significance that lives on for many years.
How do I make a bequest to the QWHA?
Step One: You will need to make a Will
Regardless of the size of your estate, it is important that you prepare a Will so that your assets are distributed according to your wishes. It is recommended that you compile your Will in consultation with a solicitor or legal advisor as it is an important document that requires professional attention.
Step Two: It is important that you use the correct wording
You may like to provide the following wording to the solicitor preparing you will:
'I give and Bequeath the sum of $........ (or nominate other type of gift) to the Queensland Women's Historical Association for the general upkeep and preservation of Miegunyah and declare that a receipt from an authorised person of the said Queensland Women's Historical Association at the time of payment be a full and sufficient discharge thereof.'
