Who, What, Why, When, Where?

Join our archive team, Sue, Sharyn and Geoff, in an interesting morning unravelling the stories behind handwriting in the archives. Help us to decipher letters, memoirs, notebooks, and jottings of intriguing people and places.

Some questions we ask:

·       Was it personal or professional?

·       Does it reveal something about social  etiquette?

·       Why was it written?

·       Why does the QWHA have it?

·       What does it tell us about the writer?

·       Was it friendly or unfriendly?

·       Was it written in a hurry?

·       Does it indicate the age of the writer?

We acknowledge the Jagera and Turrbal people as the Traditional Custodians of the Country we live and work on at Miegunyah. We recognise their continuing connection to the land, waterways and skies, and thank them for protecting this region and its ecosystems since time immemorial. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging and extend that respect to all First Nations people, acknowledging too that they never ceded sovereignty of the land, skies and waterways.
